Dr. Greta Jurj

I am a specialist in Dermatovenereology, and my professional path has been shaped by a constant desire to learn, to refine my skills and to be able to offer patients a current, attentive and personalised medical approach.

Training

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the "Vasile Goldiș" Western University of Arad, and completed my residency in the university centres of Timișoara and Oradea. Wishing to broaden my experience and to encounter different medical approaches, I chose to carry out stages of my training in both university centres, each contributing to my professional development and to the way I practise dermatology today.

During my residency I was also actively involved in academic and scientific work, taking part in the Romanian translation of the Bolognia Dermatology textbook, fourth edition, one of the reference works of the specialty. I have also taken part in national scientific meetings in dermatovenereology, as author and co-author of case presentations and scientific posters.

After almost 10 years spent away from home, dedicated to study and professional training, I chose the final part of this journey to bring me back to Baia Mare. Coming home was a natural choice, born of the wish to remain here and to place the experience and knowledge gathered over these years at the service of the community in which I grew up.

Continuing education

To complement my medical training, I completed the master's programme "Management and Strategies in Palliative Care" at Transilvania University of Brașov, a training I continued by obtaining the certificate of complementary studies in Palliative Care. This experience strengthened my perspective on a medicine centred not only on the disease, but also on the patient, on their needs and quality of life.

Current practice

In my practice I address dermatological conditions in both adults and children, from inflammatory, infectious and autoimmune conditions to cutaneous tumour pathology. An important area of interest is dermoscopy and the assessment of pigmented and non-pigmented lesions, with an emphasis on prevention and the early diagnosis of skin cancers, including melanoma.

I also perform dermatological and dermatosurgical procedures, such as skin biopsies, excision of lesions, curettage, electrocautery and other procedures adapted to the diagnosis and to the particularities of each patient.

My work also includes aesthetic dermatology, through minimally invasive procedures such as botulinum toxin treatments, PRP, mesotherapy and microneedling, with the aim of achieving natural and harmonious results, adapted to the particularities of each patient.

For me, dermatology means more than treating a condition of the skin. It means prevention, accurate diagnosis and individualised treatment, but also building a relationship based on communication and trust between doctor and patient.

I want to continue refining my skills and to bring modern methods and approaches into my practice, contributing, here at home, to patients' access to dermatology practised with responsibility, empathy and attention to detail.
